The molecular sieve core is the consumable heart of a filter drier and directly determines system drying capacity. Kilterra molecular sieve uses 3A/4A zeolite with precise pore size and strong water adsorption, paired with high-precision filter mesh for continuous, reliable drying protection.
Common Faults and Diagnosis
- Large temperature difference across the drier - blocked or saturated core
- Persistent bubbles in sight glass - insufficient drying capacity
- Repeated ice blockage - failed core not replaced
- Discolored core surface - moisture saturation signal
Prevention
- Replace the core together with filter drier maintenance
- Check core condition before restarting long-idle systems
- Cut open old cores to diagnose system moisture/debris condition
- Store spare cores sealed, moisture-proof
Diagnostic Approach
3A molecular sieve has a pore size of about 3 angstroms: only water molecules pass through and are adsorbed, while refrigerant and lubricant molecules are kept out - selective adsorption. 4A has larger pores and can also pick up some contaminants. Adsorption is physical: water is locked inside the crystal cage and keeps working until saturated.
For 37 years Kilterra has focused on one thing: build refrigeration components right, deliver them on time. Molecular Sieve Core supports OEM/ODM customization - factory visits, sample testing and volume partnerships are welcome.
