The condenser is the radiator of the refrigeration system, cooling the compressor's hot high-pressure gas back into liquid. What Changes with New Refrigerants
Air-cooled finned type: refrigerant runs in copper tubes, aluminum fins enlarge the heat dissipation area, and a fan forces convection. Tube-type: refrigerant flows inside tubes while water or air exchanges heat outside. Tank type: refrigerant-to-water heat exchange happens inside a compact, efficient tank. Efficiency depends on fin spacing, tube layout and material corrosion protection.
Selection Adjustments
- Select heat exchange area by capacity, matching compressor heat rejection
- Choose air-cooled or water-cooled by environment (coastal/chemical areas need anti-corrosion fins)
- Choose structure by installation space
- Choose tube wall thickness and pressure rating by refrigerant pressure
