The compressor is the heart of a refrigeration system. Kilterra supplies BFS semi-hermetic piston compressors and YBF4 condensing units for medium/low-temperature cold rooms, display cabinets and industrial refrigeration. Semi-hermetic construction is serviceable; units are highly integrated and easy to install.
What Changes with New Refrigerants
A semi-hermetic piston compressor integrates motor and compression in one body: refrigerant gas enters the cylinder through the suction valve, is compressed by the piston and discharged to the high side. A condensing unit packages compressor, condenser and receiver into one skid - connect an evaporator and lines and you have a complete system.
Selection Adjustments
- Select compressor model by capacity and evaporating temperature
- Choose compression ratio for medium/low-temperature duty
- Choose air-cooled or water-cooled unit by environment
- Match voltage and starting method to site conditions
Important Notes
- Semi-hermetic vs hermetic? - Semi-hermetic can be serviced and suits medium/large systems.
- How to size a condensing unit? - Capacity + evaporating temperature + ambient temperature.
- How often to service a compressor? - Check oil and heat rejection every season.
- Why replace the filter drier with a compressor? - Old-system debris will destroy the new machine.
For 37 years Kilterra has focused on one thing: build refrigeration components right, deliver them on time. Compressor / Condensing Unit supports OEM/ODM customization - factory visits, sample testing and volume partnerships are welcome.
