The accumulator is installed at the compressor suction to prevent liquid refrigerant slugging; the receiver at the condenser outlet stabilizes refrigerant supply. Kilterra 40XX/44XX heat-exchange accumulators integrate internal heat exchange with liquid separation - separation plus suction/liquid heat exchange in one unit for significantly better system efficiency.

Diagnostic Approach

The accumulator uses gravity and baffle flow: liquid refrigerant falls into the bottom reservoir while vapor returns to the compressor from the top; a built-in U-tube oil return port meters a small amount of oil and liquid back to the compressor. The 44XX series adds internal heat exchange: the hot high-pressure liquid line and cold low-pressure suction line exchange heat inside the shell - subcooled liquid, superheated suction gas, and clearly better system efficiency.

For 37 years Kilterra has focused on one thing: build refrigeration components right, deliver them on time. Accumulator / Receiver supports OEM/ODM customization - factory visits, sample testing and volume partnerships are welcome.
